Weekly Newsletter - 6/9/25 - Week 37 - FINAL WEEK OF SCHOOL




Happy Sunday, Parents and Guardians!

We’ve made it — welcome to the final week of the 2024–2025 school year! Below is our LAST classroom newsletter of the year, covering the week of Monday, June 9th (Week 37 of instruction).


🎉 Free Dress Week (June 9–13)

Students are welcome to wear free dress all week at no charge. Please ensure outfits are school appropriate — if not, students may be asked to call home for a change of clothes.


📚 Curriculum Highlights

  • ELA: We’ll be wrapping up Charlotte’s Web and completing our novel study packet.

  • Math: We'll finish our unit on angles and protractor work.

  • Social Studies: We’ll continue learning about the American Revolution through Liberty’s Kids.


🏃 Field Day – Thursday, June 12th

Field Day is this Thursday! Please make sure your child wears comfortable, weather-appropriate clothes for outdoor play. Consider sending an extra water bottle or Gatorade to help them stay hydrated.


🌮 5th Grade Nacho Bar – Friday, June 13th

We’ll celebrate the last day of school with our 5th Grade Nacho Bar! Please send in any donations Friday morning. A huge thank you to all the families who volunteered — we appreciate your support in making this day special!


Half Day – Friday, June 13th

Friday is a half day with student dismissal at 11:00 AM. Please plan accordingly.


📝 Report Cards & Student Placement

Report cards will be sent home this week. In the top right corner of the report card, you’ll see your child’s placement for next year:

  • Promoted – Advancing to 6A or 6B

  • Promoted - Honors – Advancing to 6C (Honors)

Congratulations to all our fifth graders — we are so proud of them!

    • KC – 11:00 AM

  • Thurs, June 12 – Field Day (Grades 1–7)

  • Fri, June 13 – Last Day of School, Half Day (Dismissal at 11:00 AM)

💛 A Final Note

It has been a true joy teaching this group of students and getting to know all of you. Thank you for your continued support, encouragement, and flexibility throughout this school year.

Weekly Newsletter 6/2/25 - Week 36

Happy Sunday, Parents and Guardians!

Welcome to June! Can you believe we’re entering our final full week of school? Even as the year winds down, we have a lot of exciting things happening in the classroom and around the building. Here’s what you need to know for the week of June 2nd (Week 36 of Instruction):


🎉 June & Summer Birthday Shout-Outs

As we approach the end of the school year, I want to recognize all of our summer birthdays!
Let’s give a big Happy Birthday to:

  • June: Aaron Alexander (6/9), Ms. Winter (6/15)

  • July: Khloe Williams (7/9), Kairen Cole (7/16), Draylin Carter (7/17), Jayla Dillard (7/23)

We’ll celebrate all summer birthdays on Friday, June 13th!


👕 $2 Dress Down Day – Friday, June 6th

Students may dress down this Friday by bringing in $2.
Please note: If a student does not bring $2, they will be asked to call home for a uniform.


📚 Gradebook Closes – Wednesday, June 4th

The gradebook officially closes this Wednesday morning.
No assignments (including extra credit) will be accepted after that time. Please encourage your child to complete and turn in any missing work before Wednesday.


📘 Curriculum Highlights

  • ELA: We’re beginning our novel study of Charlotte’s Web! Students will engage with the story through a guided packet that builds comprehension and vocabulary skills. Students will have their final spelling test on Monday, June 2nd.

  • Math: We’ll explore measuring angles using protractors and wrap up our Unit 6 assessment.
