Dear Parents and Guardians,
Happy Sunday! Can you believe we’ve made it to May — the final full month of the school year? We’re in the home stretch, and I’m so proud of all the hard work our class has put in so far. Below is your newsletter for the week of May 5, 2025 (Week 32 of instruction).
π NWEA Testing
We officially wrapped up NWEA testing this week, and I’m thrilled to share that the class demonstrated strong growth overall. Their focus and effort truly paid off, and I couldn’t be prouder. With this milestone behind us, we’ve completed all major standardized tests for the year. The only assessments remaining are our final common quizzes in ELA and math.
π Gradebook Reminders
Please note that the gradebook will close on Wednesday, June 4. All missing assignments must be submitted by this date. If your child has any outstanding work, please encourage them to get it turned in as soon as possible. Your support in helping students finish strong is greatly appreciated.
π $2 Dress-Down Day – Friday, May 9
This Friday is a $2 dress-down day. If your child would like to participate, please send them in with the $2. Just a reminder that dress-down attire must still be school appropriate.
π Uniform Reminders
We’ve noticed an increase in students arriving out of uniform. Please remember that unless it is a designated dress-down day, all students must be in proper school uniform. This includes appropriate footwear — no Crocs, slides, or non-uniform jackets or sweaters. Students not in uniform may be asked to call home for a change of clothes. Thank you for helping us uphold our dress code expectations.
π This Week in Curriculum
-
ELA: We’re beginning Bridge to Terabithia and focusing on identifying plot elements and types of conflict. Students will also be learning how to incorporate adverbs effectively in their writing.
-
