5th Grade Weekly Newsletter

Week of May 19th (Week 34 of Instruction)

From the Desk of Ms. Winter

Happy Sunday, families! I hope you’re enjoying a restful weekend. Here’s everything you need to know for the week ahead:

🚍 Field Trip – Wednesday, May 21st

The big day is almost here—our 5th grade field trip to the Michigan Science Center is this Wednesday!
Here are a few reminders:

  • Blue shirts are required for all attending students.

  • Students not attending the trip may stay home and will receive a science packet to complete for a grade.

  • Chaperones: Due to limited bus seating, you may need to drive your own vehicle. Thank you for your flexibility.

  • Everyone (students & chaperones) should bring a cold lunch—there will be no hot food available.

  • We will begin loading buses at 9:00 AM, so please be on time!

*  No School – Friday, May 23rd & Monday, May 26th

In observance of Memorial Day, school will be closed on Friday and Monday. Classes will resume on Tuesday, May 27th.

πŸ‘• Uniform Reminders

A few important dress code reminders as we head into the final stretch of the school year:

  • No crocs, sandals, or slides—closed-toe shoes only.

  • Purses should not be brought to school.

  • Uniform sweaters are allowed, but hoodies, sweatshirts, and jackets must be left at home.

Thank you for helping students stay in dress code!

We’re running low on facial tissues. If you’re able to send in a box or two for the classroom, we would be so grateful!
